On Oct 6th, Monday, the vice governor of our province Zhang Weiguo inspected the development of open economy, tourism as well as urban construction of our city in spite of the rain. During the inspection he encouraged all the cadres and masses to continue carrying forward the theme of ¡°Striving for the first rate and realizing a great leap forward¡± and struggling to overcome difficulties with united efforts so as to keep up the coordinated development of economic and social affairs and make contributions to the realization of ¡°Two Leads¡± all over the province. The Party Secretary Shi Heping, the Acting Mayor Xu Jinrong and the vice Party Secretary Wu Shunan accompanied him.
On the morning of Oct 8th, Wednesday, with the operation order from the Acting Mayor Xu Jinrong, the extension and repairing project of Jianbi pumping station started formally, which would benefit far to the western part of Tai Lake. It also marked the function of western Tai Lake diversion and drainage project was further improved and would make more of it. Leaders of Tai Lake Bureau under the Ministry of Water Resources and the Water Resources Department of Jiangsu Province and the city leaders Zhang Qingsheng, Hu Zhixian and Zhang Xuedong attended the opening ceremony.
On Oct 8th, Wednesday, Mount Mao ecological tourism item started formally. So far, the largest investment-invited tourism item went into operation formally. Sun Yanli, member of the Standing Committee with the Municipal Party Committee and head of the Propaganda Department addressed in the ceremony. The vice Mayor Xu Guoping was present.
On the morning of Oct 9th, Thursday, the fifth China Specialties Cultural Festival and the third China Jurong Mount Mao Tourism Cultural Festival as well as the golden autumn economy and trade talks were solemnly held in Jurong, which has attracted great attention. Leaders of relevant State militaries and commissions, the province and the city leaders as well as over 1,500 traders and guests at home at abroad attended the ceremony.
On the morning of Oct 10th, Friday, the Party Secretary Shi Heping came to the reception room for the city leaders to answer letters and calls from people. He received the people carefully and enthusiastically and made demands on sticking to the system of Reception Day for the Party and government leaders.
Also on the morning of Oct 10th, Friday, the vice Chairman of the Standing Committee with the Provincial People¡¯s Congress Fang Zhizhuo came to the Runzhou District to check the work, accompanied by the Party Secretary Shi Heping and Wu Shunan, vice Party Secretary and vice Chairman of the Standing Committee with the Municipal People¡¯s Congress.
On the morning of Oct 10th, Friday, the Acting Mayor Xu Jinrong and the standing vice Mayor Jiang Licheng came to the Jingkou District to make investingation and research on the employment work.
