| Serial Report on Child Protection | Mrs. Valerie感arker carries out child protection in Zhenjiang
Jan.18th, Mrs. Valerie感arker, an experienced social worker from UK, arrived at Zhenjiang. Jan. 19th, the second day after her arrival, Party Secretary Zhang Weiguo, Vice Secretary Wu Shunan and Vice Mayor Chen Jianshe saw her in the Zhenjiang International Hotel.
Mrs. Valerie感arker is a specialist in childcare and protection and also an expert witness for legal proceedings including giving evidence in court. She is invited to highlight the importance of child protection to local people and especially professionals, say, teachers, doctors, nurses, experts in Women Federation and staffs of communities etc.
Field Inspection
﹛Mrs. Valerie感arker had three working days in the ZhongShan Road Elementary School. She had discussions with the schoolmasterㄛteachers, and representatives of parents there. After three-day＊s communication, they all agreed that it would be very wise to pay attention to the problem of child abuse right now before the problem gets too serious. It is Mrs. Valerie感arker who catches people＊s eyes on child protection although we do not have such frequent accusation about it nowadays. She suggested that grownups and parents in particular should take the burden of protecting children.
In the folowing days , Mrs. Valerie感arker made more talks with different people in every walk of life.
A Day with Local Family
In order to enrich foreign experts＊ life in Zhenjiang and also know citizen＊s existing understanding of child protection personally, we arranged a day for her to be with a local family. It was truly a wonderful day. She and her husband experienced traditional Chinese family life first hand and enjoyed excellent exotic foods and wonderful hospitality there. They were looked upon as great ambassadors for the sincere friendship of Sino-UK.
